You must use an antifungal medication to get rid of jock itch. You need to apply this medication to the infected area 2-3 times a day for 14-21 days. I often recommend using miconazole 7 cream it is cheap and comes in a large tube.

Different drug companies make various over the counter medications that are supposed to help. Also, I've heard that talcum or baby powder is supposed to help. The best treatment is probably prevention. Wear looser clothing. Bathing with an antibacterial soap would help as would keeping the area as dry and cool as possible.

The first thing that you should do is wear clean underwear, maybe get some jock itch spray to use in the irritated area. Most of the time you can check your local drug store for products to use on the area of the jock itch. Cleaning the area after activity would also help.

Jock itch is relatively easy to treat. You can do so with a variety of anti-fungal creams and powders which are available over the counter. If these don't work a prescription strengh cream from a doctor will usually work. Try keeping the area clean and dry during treatment.

The best way is to use a cream to sooth the itching and clear cause. Your doctor can prescribe one or there are over the counter remedies available.
