How do you go about pruning a dwarf burning bush?

Use hand clippers to remove branches back to main limb or leader. Prune in early spring before new leaves emerges. The use of hedge trimmers are not recommended.

Now that's cruel. The poor plat is already small and on top of that suffering from burns. Just leave it alone.

Dwarf Burning Bushes are easy to care for since they can tolerate some abuse (such as lack or excess of water). They do however, grow very rapidly. One option in pruning, is bring out the sheers in early spring. You can trim off the top, cut in the sides or even from the bottom up, since it is so tolerable.

The dwarf burning bush is very tolerant to pruning so you can cut them as you see fit. You should prune in the spring.
