How do you go about getting a stool sample when your dog has diarrhea?

Get a plastic spoon and a ziplock bag. When the dog goes to the bathroom, scoop up some of the poop with the spoon and put it in the ziplock bag.

You watch where he goes and then you take a bag and scoop it up and take it to the vet. The vet could do the testing in his office.
