You train a stud just as you do any other horse. Quiet, consistent, quality handling. Establish your leadership in the herd of two by various exercises, and make SURE you are consistent in your handling at all times. Stud colts are not inherently evil- they are a horse. Stay consistent and fair, and you will make progress in training.

You break a stud colt the same way you break a filly: with time, patience, and repetition. There's no need to treat the cold differently.

Breaking stud colts is really no different from working with fillies or geldings. They all have a fairly short attention span. In light of this, be sure to keep lessons brief (15-20 minutes) and always end on a positive note.

When dealing with Stud colts always use caution. Male horses who are intact tend to be a bit more high strung and can be dangerous. Start with groundwork before riding.
