I would avoid being drunk. Although it does tend to give one courage it can also make on stupid, and say the wrong this so that is a big no. I would just congradualate them, and wish them the best of luck. Maybe say soemthing nostalgic about them or your friendship to the groom.

The most memorable best man speeches are a combination of funny, witty, heart-warming, and love. Do not get drunk before giving the speech- it will show.
