It's important to not embarrass the couple so be sure any stories you tell are appropriate, especially concerning age. You want to share a few anecdotes about the couple like how you met them and be sure to wish them luck and let them know you love them.

Successful speeches should have a few key characteristics. First, it should be 100% positive and have humor. Telling a touching or humorous story about how the couple interacts together is always enjoyable for everyone.

Just think about the person, or people, that you know who are about to get married. Reflect on any special memories you have with them or any advice you'd like to impart, and work from there. Be sincere and you'll do just fine.

It really doesn't matter because the speech itself is improvised. Sometimes a lot of people get nervous when they tap their glass or clear their throat to give the couple their best wishes. It's best to think a moment before speaking, say what's on your mind, and sit down. Take a deep breath and relax.
