I'm going to guess that you are trying to remove scratches from the surface of your ipod. If it's the casing you can simply get some fingernail polish that matches the color of your ipod to hide the scratches. If it's on the screen use a lens safe scratch remover.

To get rid of light scratches you need to get some kind of polishing compound. This can be purchase from several places online. There are some designed specially for the ipod case but any plastic friendly compound should work. There are lots of tutorial online that well help you with the process.

if they are light try a soft cloth and a cleaner used for glasses. if heavy try a sift cloth with automotive rubbing compound. buff until scratches are gone. once scratches have been removed buy a case to prevent future damage

You can't remove scratches on ipods. You should have put a protector on after you bought it. The only way to have this fixed is to send it to apple and pay a fee.
