Flies do not like the smell of basil, so keep a plant of it near a window. Another thing is that they do not like the orange and lemon oils in cleaning products. But the best way is to clean and airtight any openings in doors and windows.

If you mean the big ones you just kill them as they fly into your house. If you are having problmes with the little ones that look like gnats there are several different drain treatments to treat the drains in your house.

Fly glue traps work very effectively. Making sure the flies do not make it into a house can be solved with a bug zapper.

Fill Ziploc bags with water and hang them around the house. Also don't leave any foods out, their nose is as good as a dogs.
