how to  skin

Question by  DD (30)

How do you get rid of excess skin?

I lost a lot of weight and now I have excess skin.

Answer by  bean11 (2803)

Eat healthy and continue exercising and working out to tighten and tone the areas. If there is a lot of excess skin, the only thing that can really be done is to pay a visit to a cosmetic surgeon and have a procedure done to remove the skin.

The only real way to get rid of a lot of excess skin is surgery. When you gain a lot of weight, your skin will stretch beyond its natural elasticity and simply cannot shrink back to its original state after weight loss has taken place.

You need to encourage the skin to snap back into place. Lotion and exercise will help, but if you have too much skin it may need to be removed surgically.

Usually if exercise won't shrink the extra skin a surgeon will have to remove it. When we age or our skin stretches from too much weight it will lose elasticity.

Unfortunatly, there's no natural way to lose the excess skin after significant weight loss. You should see a dermatologist to determine if you are a good candidate for plastic surgery.

If it's only a little skin, you can try a body cream containing collagen and caffeine. If it's a lot of skin, you'll need it surgically removed.
