First you need to get rid of some of the pain caused by infection. So get a bottle of hydrogen peroxide and dump it on the the sore part of the toe nail,then cut the nail with clippers on the opposite side about a inch,then tear the nail.

The best way to get rid of an ingrown toenail is to go and see a podiatrist and have them treat it. Depending on if it is infected or not they may have to remove your toe nail. Other wise rest and ice will do the trick. Please do not treat yourself.
