How do you get permits for home burial?

My grandmother has always wanted to be buried on her own property.

Each town and state is different. Try contacting a religious organization or a funeral home for more details. You can also contact your town or city hall for information as well as the state government.

There are differences on how to get the permit for home burial, depending in which country you are living. The best advice is to go consulting with local authorities.

You need to start by contacting the health department and they will check out the soil and make sure it is safe. Some states do not allow it.

Wow that one is different, I guess you would have to contact your county to see if it is allowable to do so and get the right permits.

I would check with the funeral home director. This was a common practice a 100 years ago and there are many family cemeteries on privately owned farms.
