How do you "get over" claustrophobia?

My new boyfriend lives on the 17th floor. I can't ride the elevator, but I don't want to climb 17 flights of stairs every time!

Usually claustrophobia isn't a fear you get over, but it can be controlled. When he is in a tight area, have him take deep breaths and try to relax, but not to hyperventilate. If that doesn't work try a therapist to work with him.

You need cognitive behaviour therapy, and some systematic desensitization. A therapst can help you in just a few sessions and most are covered by insurance.

Forse yourself onto the elevator. It is called an exposure. Face what you fear most and just get it over with. You need to come to terms with why your scared.
