You can buy 'dry carpet shampoo' products which are scented powders that you sprinkle on your carpet, leave for a while, then vacuum out. Also try a fabric freshener spray like Febreeze. Leave your doors and windows open for a few hours to air the whole house out.

You can buy resolve carpet cleaner and follow the directions on the bottle. Also, spray the house with lysol. If that doesn't work then you may have to call in professional carpet cleaners.

There is a spray out that you can spray on the carpet and then vacuum it up. It is call carpet fresh. Also if you can shampoo your carpets with a machine and add some shampoo for odors.
