Why don't you try being friends first? Perhaps your intensity is scaring the girls. You will always need friends so spend your time making more of them first.

You need to be yourself. If you're trying to be someone else, stop. You want a girl to care for the real you, not the pretend you.

you need to be confident in who you are. Make a list of 100 things you want to accomplish in your life and stand by those things. Don't change to make a girl happy.

There have been many opinions (and books!) written on this topic, but there is no correct answer. The best way, is always be yourself, because nobody can ever take that away from you. I would recommend though asking a lot of questions, be a gentlemen, romantic, etc. You can't lose with that!
