If he chews on the furniture around you, scold him immediately and redirect him. There are also sprays you can spray on furniture called "bitter apple" that will help.

There are a lot of reasons and fixes for chewing. Be sure the puppy is getting plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Supervise the puppy as much as possible. When he chews, say "Ah" and give him a toy to chew instead of the furniture. You may also spray the furniture with deterrent that tastes bitter to dogs.

You tell him or her no and take one of the toys and put it into his mouth and praise him for doing the right thing. Get Bitter Apple Spray.

There is a product that is available at most pet stores called Apple Bitter (other brand may have a similar name) It is a very sour tasting spray that is supposed to deter animals from chewing. It is stain free and easy to apply. It worked wonders for my puppy.

There is a spray that you can purchase that repels dogs from furniture. Also simply watching the dog and repeatedly saying no when he does it.

You need to designate a chew toy for him and don't let him chew on anything else. Perhaps a wet rag that has been frozen in the freezer would work. When he tries to chew on your furniture take him away from it and give him his chew toy.

If you have furniture you don't care about you can apply jalepeno or tabasco juices to the furniture. Most pet shop retailers also offer bitter tasting sprays for fabric upholstery that can be used as an aide but, nothing competes with consistent training.
