The only power we have to destroy a life is murder. For the most part, people destroy their own lives by focusing on things over which they have no power. If we all minded our own business, we would not have time to worry about what others have done.

Unless you kill a love one of somebody, or financially ruin them, I don't think you can truly destroy somebody's life. You have probably hurt them in such a way though, that this is how they feel.

We have no control over others feelings. The only control others have over us is what we allow them. my spouse for example; i didnt buy her, i dont own her; i married her. My wife for good or bad is still her own indiviual and i respect her

You take away everything they hold dear to them in life, withdraw emotional and physical love. You turn friends and family against them. You take sources of money from them.

Your wife is over-exaggerating. Try communicating with her to figure out what the real root of her frustration is. Also, review your contributions to the relationship for anything that would have annoyed you if you were in her position. Then, you can help fix the real problem.

well being a woman i can only speculate what she means by that. my assumption would be she feels you have stopped her from living her dreams, made her feel inadequate as a person, unloved, alone.. etc, maybe you should try showing her more love, asking how to fix it.

By getting the other individual to allow you to have control over their emotions. That the other perso n would be so attached if you would abandon them on any level, they would fall apart.
