How do you demagnetize a television?

I need help with my tv.

Head over to your local electronics parts store. They will have a specialized tool just for this purpose. It looks a little like a ray gun, which is neat too.

To demagnetize a TV you use a "degaussing coil". The coil is plugged into an outlet and then moved across the front of the picture tube. The TV can be on or off when you do this. Most TVs built in the past 10 years have an automatic degaussing circuit built in though so it is usually not needed.

find yourself a good sized magnet, usually an old speaker will work excellently. Start at the center of the screen and in a circular motion, move the magnet towards the edge of the screen, then keep all magnets away from the tv, speakers, phones, etc.

Get a oval shaped magnet. Place or position it where north and south pole touches the screen. hold the magnet tight and rub it over the screen
