How do you cure bad breath in children?

He brushes his teeth, but I'm afraid he'll choke on a breath mint.

Have you tried flossing and brushing more often. You might even consider taking your child to the dentist. Regular tooth brushes rarely do a good job. He or she may have food way in the back not in reach.

Make sure he is brushing his tongue. There are foods that give kids bad breath just like adults. And maybe his tonsils are infected.

You could give him Listerine strips which simply dissolve on the tongue or you could give him something that tastes a bit less awful. Many companies that make breath mints also make breath strips these days. If you don't choose to do that, you could simply buy him mouth wash.

Other than brushing his teeth, there isn't much you can do (although some kids have been known to chew gum).
