CD players should be cleaned by using a q-tip and isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Rub the center of the laser and allow it to dry. Clean off with a non-static cloth.

CD players can often be cleaned by buying a special disc which contains brushes on the bottom of it. They can be found at an electronics store for around $10-$20.

To clean the laser eye in cd players they make a special cleaning disk. It is just a cd with tiny soft brushes attached. Try using one of these and see if that helps.

Aside from just cleaning out the obvious dust and particles that may settle onto the rim, or holder, of your cd player, it is also important to clean the lens on it that reads your CD's. Do this by using a cd lens cleaner, a CD with bristles on it.

The simple way is to get a CD cleaner disk, these can be either wet or dry cleaners. Typically they have a brush on them and play music when complete.
