How do you cite quotations in APA style?

In APA, the correct format for citations is as follows: "quotation" (Author's Last Name, Year). So, an example citation could be: "These results are not typical" (Smith, 2007). For more than one author, list them in the order the book or article cites them. For several authors, annotate like so: "(Author1, Author2, Author3, et al). "

Note the last name of the author (do not include suffixes such as Jr. ) and the year of the publication. Always provide page numbers when citing quotations. Follow the year of the publication with a comma and then provide the page number or chapter number. Use abbreviations such as p. (page) or chap. (chapter).
