That depends on what kind of subwoofers or speakers you want to run. Number of channels, wattage, ohm's, and your budget determine which one to buy. Mono Amplifier are expensive but good for extreme bass freaks. For better sound quality buy Kenwood, Sony, Kicker, Alpine. They are all good quality amplifiers.

The best way to choose an amplifier is to first choose your subwoofers/speakers. Then buy a amplifier that will support enough channels, wattage, ohm's, and your budget. It's best to buy a amplifier with more watts than needed to provide better sound quality. Sony, Kicker, Infinity, Rockford Fosgate, Alpine, and Kenwood are all examples of good amplifiers.

A good way to choose an amp is by figuring out what you want to do with it. For example, if you plan on powering massive subs, get a massively powerful amp (you may need to upgrade your alternator or put in a larger battery). Check reviews on electronics websites to see what companies have good products.

The first thing you need to understand is the wattage need you'll require. How many speakers are you looking to power, and what is the maxium wattage for those speakers. Secondly, make sure the resistance (ohms) of the amplifier matches up to that of the speakers.
