How do you check the available memory on a PC?

My PC is slow and I wonder if the memory is low.

A memory usage monitor can sometime be found in your operating system. The process for using it varies by version so look online for a guide. There are also third party programs that can do this for you.

Two ways, you can go to the Start Menu and in the Run dialog type "dxdiag" without the quotes, this will bring up a screen with RAM on it. The System tab of Control Panel will also have it. Note that XP should have a gig of RAM minimum.

To do this right click on your task bar and choose task manager. Then click on the performance tab. The Physical memory area tells you how much physical memory you have left.

You need to go to Start, then My Computer. Right click on OS (C:). Then click on Properties. This should be able to help. If not, then chances are, you will need to buy some RAM.

Assuming you are running a Windows Operating System, open the windows task manager and check the system performance tab. There, you'll find a reading for physical memory. Try Ctrl+Shift+Esc or Ctrl+Alt+Del to bring up the task manager.
