Hammer a long nail with a head into a piece of wood. Next cut roping or macrama roping in the lengths you want the braid to be. Wrap this around the nail tie a knot and start to braid. End also with a knot.
Start with 3 strands. Fold farthest left strand over to your right hand, fold farthest right strand to your left hand, pull middle strand to your right hand. continue pattern.
