Put your eggs in cold water, bring to boil. Once the water begins to boil, remove the pan from the heat, cover it, and let eggs sit for 10 minutes.

Take a saucepan, fill it with water and bring the water to the boil. When it is boiling, add the egg (in its shell) to the pan of water, and continue to boil for 3-4 minutes. Best results obtained by using an egg timer.

This is called a pouched egg. It should not cook over 5 minutes once it starts boiling. This is good on buttered toast.

Timing is everything! To get the perfect soft boiled egg, let the egg cook for only 3 minuted after the water starts to boil. Stop the cooking by removing the egg and running under cold water.
