How do you bleed brakes?

Somebody told me that's what I need to do to my car.

Brake calipers are equipped with a brake bleeder valve. Do not run the car! One person sits in the car and the other loosens the valve. The brakes are then "pumped" until a steady stream of fluid (no air) comes out of the valve, retighten and move to the next.

Jack up the vehicle, take the wheels off, look for a bleeding nipple, place a rubber hose over the nipple, loosen the bleeding nipple with the appropriate wrench, open the brake cylinder resevoir cap, ensure it is full, pump the breaks until no air comes out, tighten the bleeder nut.

Raise all four wheels off ground, remove wheels, raise hood. Locate the bleeder nipples, place a transparent hose on the nipple. Have friend hold the brake pedal, open the bleeder screw, close bleeder screw, release brake. occasionally refill brake reservoir. Repeat until no more bubbles. Repeat for each wheel. Reassemble.
