How do you attract woodpeckers?

Plant trees. Hang out bird feeders with special seed mixes that cater to woodpeckers. Also have out some meal worms. There is special Suet cakes that attract woodpeckers as well.

I would say having a few suet feeders in your yard as well as a cage type feeder that will hold shelled peanuts would be a good method.
