How can I attract flying squirrels to my yard?

Flying squirrels eat the same things as gray squirrels, ie, small insects and seed. Make sure you don't let your cat or dog out because that will keep the squirrels away. You might want to reconsider attracting them to your yard, though; they can be major pests and are famous for setting up nests in attics.

The same type of nuts and feed that attract regular squirrels will also attract flying squirrels. Peanut butter on bread cut in very small slices is also a food choice. Flying squirrels are very elusive and only come out in the evening and night times. Seeing one is usally rare.

A bird house filled with lots of nice goodies is a great way of attracting flying squirrels. Fill it with mushrooms, pecans, wall nuts, acorns, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds. The birdhouse should be placed near the shade/trees.

Flying Squirrels can be attracted by erecting a birdhouse or nest box. Suspend the birdhouse from a tree or a stand and fill with assorted nuts and button mushrooms. Please note that if you elect to provide nest boxes, you will need to suspend 8'-10' from a mature tree.

Put out sunflower seeds they love them and if they are within a twenty mile radious they will be in your yard.

First, make sure there are trees. Oaks are good, as they provide a food source. If you have a dog, get rid of it.

bring in the feeder bird feeder and corn feeder will attract all kind of squirrels and if that dont work bring nut in and add a bird bath for them to get water
