Javex usually does a great job at getting rid of the nasty smell of mold. If you find that too harsh try using Pinesol... still too harsh, try using liquid laundry soap mixed with your favorite fabric softener...works great.
The best solution for mold odor is vinegar. Vinegar is potent enough to kill most fungi and will get rid of odors very quickly. Lemon juice is also effective.
Mold smell removal can be achieved by cleaning the area with bleach or with baking soda rubbed into the area. The baking soda helps to absorb the smell and to clear the air.
If you use Clorox bleach it will kill the smell of mold and will always kill the bacteria that cause the mold to grow. You should spray a bleach and water mixture on the mold, wait at least to minutes and then wipe away.
