The bed on a truck is only a bolt on component. These can be easily removed, and possibly used as a trailer if you have a spare axle. Removal of the tail lights would be the place to start. Then search out bolt attachment points on the underside and check fuel tank attachment.

Start by unhooking any wiring and the gas filler neck. Then remove your bed mounting bolts. Then have a bunch of people or a hoist carefully lift it off.

Lift the rear of the truck using jacks and stands. Then remove the bolts that hold the bed to the frame and disconnect all wiring.

Remove/disconnect the fuel filler neck and remove the tail lamp assemblies - making sure the wiring isn't fastened to the bed. Bolts can be from the bottom or the top - 4-6 sets of two bolts. Lift the bed with long chains and an overhead chain fall or hoist.

There will be 4-12 bolts holding the bed to the frame. Remove the bolts then unplug any wires that may be attach and your ready to remove your bed.

Really the best place to find out how to do this for your specific truck is to look online or in a repair manual. The process varies but you typically unhook the wiring and the gas filler neck then unbolt the bed mounts. Then it should lift right off.

Most truck beds are very simple to remove. Disconnect the tail lights. Disconnect the trailer hitch electrics. Unbolt the body from the frame. Bed should come right off.
