How do wood bats compare to aluminum bats?

Wood bats dont create nearly the velocity of a ball when hit as an aluminum bat. They are used in the MLB because if people that big and strong used aluminum bats, they could kill a person because of the velocity created when hitting the ball. The wood bats usually weigh more so they cannot be swung as fast

Wood bats have less "pop" than aluminum bats and as a result the ball comes much slower off of them compared to aluminum. Wood bats are generally seen as safer to use at higher levels of baseball because of this. Wood bats are also heavier and slow down a batter's bat speed and are good for batting practice.

Aluminum bats are not used in the major leagues because it would be home run derby. Aluminum bats are more forgiving than wood. They have a much larger sweet spot. The reason aluminum bats are used in lower levels is that they do not break. Wood bats are expensive but can be fun to use.

Aluminum Bats are used for younger children because they allow the ball to travel further; however, they do travel faster which is why when you are adult you which to wooden bats because they allow for a quicker reaction by the defender and reduce the injury

Wood bats have less resistance and make the ball travel less fast. Aluminum bats usually have a more wide barrel, which can be used to hit the ball farther, and they don't break like wooden bats do.
