An iPod is simply an MP3 player, when you pay more for an iPod you are simply paying for a brand (Apple). However, this is different when speaking about the Ipod Touch because of the wi-fi and touchscreen. Iriver is fine for music or videos but no wifi.

Truthfully Ipods have blown any MP3 players out of the water, meaning that nothing stacks up against the ipod. The features compared to the iRiver dont come close.

They are going to be a lot cheaper and they are not going to last as long as the Apple iPod. They basically do the same thing but built differently and have different batteries and stuff so they are not the best out there for your money.

In terms of the sound quality, you won't notice any difference at all, but the iPods are a lot easier to use and are, of course, more stylish. It just depends on your preference.

Well it actually depends on the user. It depends on what you need. Many iRiver MP3 players need batteries, now if you can take this hassle good enough. If your happy with the iRiver MP3 sound quality and the software, i guess then you should go for it.

Really they do not compare well. For the money an Ipod would be a better choice. Iriver's tend to look good but lack common feature found on player of a similar price. Personally I think you can do better than an Ipod also. I would suggest looking at Samsung's before buying an Ipod.

They are a decent brand however that cheaper price means lower quality and less functions. If you want something cheaper but still the same quality check out Samsung.

With ipods you are paying mostly for the fact that it is made by apple. Apple always has really expensive items. Go with iRiver if your on a budget.
