Question by  Jakey98 (222)

How do I rewrite the equation 4x+4y=20 in slope intercept form?

+4

Answer by  amswplusone (652)

Solve it in terms of y. Subtract 4x from both sides (4y=20-4x), then divide by 4 to make it y=5-x. Lastly, make it y=-x+5 (slope of -1, intercept at 5).

You would just have to rewrite everything in terms of y. y=mx+b so swing the 4x over and you get 4y=-4x+20 solve for y and you get y = -x+5.
