Lift the top of the back tank off. Undo the chain between the flush lever and the flapper. Lift the flapper off the center post and replace with new flapper.

First, turn off the water supply to the toilet, then flush the toilet to empty the tank. Make a note of the length of chain between the flush lever and the flapper. Disconnect the chain and old flapper, attach the new one, and hook up the chain again.

First buy a replacement kit from the hardware store. Next turn off the water and flush the toilet. Take the old flapper out and replace the flapper according to the packages instructions. Next turn on water ande check that flapper was put in correctly.

First turn the water valve off! You must Hook both sides of the flapper to the pegs, which is at the bottom of the tank on both sides of the overflow tube! and test to see if the flapper moves up and down freely. Hook up the chain to the flush handle!
