Question by  ryan506 (18)

How do I replace a Honda Accord's valve cover gasket?

Answer by  bikerbojo (282)

Remove negative battery cable first. Clean any dirt/debris from around valve cover. Remove the air cleaner and anything else that would impede removal of cover out of the way. Remove the hold-down nuts/bolts and remove old gasket and clean mating surfaces. Apply gasket sealer to one side and replace.

Start by removing all the stuff on top of cover so it can be removed. Once this is done just unbolt the cover, then replace the old with the new.

The best thing to do is to get the owners manual because all cars are different. You are going to probably have to remove the fuel rail and then make sure everything is out of your way to get to the head. Pull the bolts out of the head and put the gasket. Torque to manufacturers specifications.
