How do I remove a ceiling fixture with no screws?

I would double check, almost all ceiling fixtures have screws. There may be some sort over cover you have to remove to get to them though.

You will need to find out what keeping it up there. They you will pry away from the ceiling and replaster the damage you made.

Usually a cover is fitted, which can be unscrewed (in most cases) or (rarely) snaps over the fitting screwed to the ceiling - undo that, and you find screws.
