Most electric companies will fine you for messing with their meters. However, if you must pull a meter than you will have to open the meter box and almost all of the current models just pull straight out.
You will have to cut away the energy providers tags. Next, you will have to remove the metal ring that goes around the meter. You may want to kill the main breaker inside the panel. Simply grab the meter with both hands and pull back with force.
