How do I network my Windows Vista laptop to my Windows 98 home computer?

You need to enable file sharing on the Vista laptop, then spend $30 to get windows XP home license for your win 98 computer. Windows 98 was never really built for networking

Both computers need to physically (could be via wireless) to a network, and both need to join the same WORKGROUP.

It would be advisable to purchase a standard router or switch from any local computer store. After you have the router setup properly, you can easily transfer files and data between the computers using freeware FTP server software.
