Depending on how file is to be used - you can create a file link by right clicking a cell and typing the actual path to the image - c:\temp\myimage.jpg. You can also just paste images directly into the file in virtually any cell. If you are trying to have a mouseover link or similar feature you must use VisualBasic.

It depends on if you're linking to a file on your computer or on the web. use =hyperlink("location","text to display") where location is either c:\path\path\imagename.jpg or the URL where your file is hosted, and TEXT TO DISPLAY is what you want the link to say.

If you are wanting to insert an image, click on Insert | Picture and choose from the available options there. If you want to turn an image into a clickable link, then right click on the picture and choose 'Hyperlink. ' Fill in the 'Address' box and click 'Ok.

We can link images in excel by selecting the required cell and giving hyperlink to the required picture path. The way is as follows: select cell - click right button - select hyperlink - select on the browse button - select the required path of the picture - click ok. Now you can go to the picture using the link.

In Excel 2003, Go to menu: Insert > Picture > From File. Select the file location of the image you want to link in the popup window.

If you are wanting to link these types of images on Excel then you will need to right click and hit that button.
