Most domestic cats in the United States are mixed breeds known as domestic shorthairs -- of course, there are also long and medium hairs. Some breeds have distinct features such as the Scottish Fold which has folded ears or the Bengal which has spots like a leopard.

The easiest way to figure out what breed your cat is by looking at pictures of different breeds online. Compare the pictures to what your cat looks like to what you find and you will be able to figure it out.

Well, the most accurate way would be to have your cat dna tested to see which breeds it has in it's bloodline.

Most likely, you have a "Moggy" or mixed breed cat. It's possible to DNA test to see what breed it is but most cats are Moggies. It's not worth it.
