To heal dog wounds, you need to first make sure that the wound is free from debris. Then, clean the wound with an antiseptic solution. Then, put some ointment over the wound to heal and protect it. Make sure the dog does not irritate the wound and get it infected.

I heal dog wounds just as I would heal a human's wounds. The site must be cleaned with soap and water and an antiseptic. Pressure is put to the wound if bleeding will not stop. Wrap the wound with a bandage. Change the bandage every day or as needed.

Basically, the healing of a dog is the same as a human. Keep the wounds clean, dry, and disinfected. If they need stitches, get them. Apply an antibacterial ointment and bandage. Disinfect, apply ointment, and re-bandage on a daily basis; leave some time in the open air in a clean place.

If the wound is minor, clip the fair around the wound and clean it out with antiseptic. After doing this you will need to cover the wound so your dog will not scratch or lick at it. Clipping the hair will insure that no more dirt from the fur continues to get in the wound.
