How do I go about replacing a Chevy S10 ignition switch?

Disconnect the Battery first then loosen the retaining nut on the steering wheel, give it a gentle pull then mark the shaft and wheel so that the two come back together in its original position, remove the screws of the horn and air bag then replace the ignition and then put the screws back and tighten the steering retaining nut

Remove the old one but when you do it have the new one there and hook the wires up to the new one as you unhook them.

To replace the ignition switch on your Chevy you are going to have to take off your steering wheel. Once the steering wheel is off you can locate it near the actual ignition.
