Use an insecticidal soap on heavily invested areas - ideal for small applications. You can knock the thrips out by hitting the plant on your hand.

The easiest way to get rid of thrips is to choose plants that thrips don't prefer -- strong-tasting plants such as hot peppers, onions, garlic, and other aromatic plants. If you do not want to change your plants spraying what you have with aromatics is the next best option.

We can use nematodes in the early spring. Ladybugs can be introduced in the garden. Plants should spray with insect soaps. Insect growth regulator will arrest the development of juvenile thrips. Pesticides should be used at temperature below 80 degrees F or it will burn the flowers.
