To get rid of birds you can place a protective net, same as you use for to keep out the bugs and that can also protect the birds from entering and getting inside your plants. This is method i use for my own balcony so i know it works.

One way to scare away birds is to have something scare them away. You can purchase a fake owl and place it in your balcony. The fake owl is almost like a scarecrow and the birds will leave you alone.

You could try putting netting over the plants. Depending on the size of the birds they still may be able to get into the plants. Try a birdhouse. Better yet, make peace with the birds and enjoy them on your balcony!

The easiest way is to get a dog or a cat. This also works for getting rid or other pest like mice and squirrels. If you can't have pets, try a recording that sounds like a dog or cat.
