Mainly there are two reasons of this being happen. One is over moisture and second one is also similar which is rainy season or dirt in the lawn. Best solution is to water plants in morning and not at night. Using pesticide will help too.

Any sort of fungicide will do the trick and get rid of the surface mushrooms. But odds are there is a whole network of fungus beneath the surface.

Due to extreme moisture a network of mycelium forms under the root of the tree. You need to get down beneath the surface and kill the mushrooms at the base. This will prevent any more from growing in the future. Anything from gasoline and fire to just ripping it out will do the trick!

You need to kill the mycellium network. This sounds like oakroot fungus, also known as honey mushrooms. Methyl-bromide is an effective chemical that can kill the network if it is not too deep. Direct sunlight can dry it up at the surface level, and kill the mushrooms.

I just stamp my out. I hoe them over with a hoe or mow them over with a mower. WHen it gets wet I think you get mushrooms.

Mushrooms usually grow because of the moisture. If there is a heavy rain you will probably see mushrooms. Check the area to see if it holds water and fix.

Remove as much dirt and mulch as possible. They might be growing because the trunk is too moist. It will eventually end up killing your tree.
