The brake failure relay is a little box located in the fuse box of the vehicle in the motor compartment. Take off the fuse box cover and find look at the diagram and look for "Brake Failure Relay" this will pull right out using fingers, replace with a new one.

The reason for brake failure should be analysed first. It may be brake lining or booster or oil failures. So it is advised to take it to a service station.

For the Volvo it is best to replace the entire brake relay. You can find a used relay that will work great online.
