How do I fix a 1997 Cadillac overheating problem?

First thing that you want to do is check the coolant levels. Leaking/Low coolant is the most common cause of overheating. If coolant is low, add until full and then watch the levels closely. If it continues to drop to low levels you should have your water pump checked. A bad thermostat could also cause overheating.

Overheating of any vehicle can be caused by the coolant level being too low or the coolant not circulating properly. Thermostat failure or plugged radiator are common problems as well.

There are many different causes of over heating, this applies to cars mostly before the year of 1999. So your car is on the list, first you gotta check the radiator(mainly) then try checking your cooling fluid.

oil change and making sure that your not leaking antifreeze anywhere. If you aren't then try changeing all of your antifreeze if that doesn't work then try changing your thermostat
