Collect information from family members who knew the relative, including places the relative has lived. Use one of the white pages websites to look for the relative's name, keeping in mind that this may not work for female relatives. Look on social networking sites. As you search, you may find other relatives and you can collect information from them.

First contact all the relatives that you have contact, with that have known the person. Maybe they have a married last name or know the state the person resides. Look on the internet, facebook, twitter or my space. Call the telephone company, death notices, court documents, arrest warrants.

I would begin on the internet. This is one of the most powerful tools we have. If you come up with any lead you can follow it. If not, then go to the register of deeds in you County, they may be able to help or be able to point you in a good direction.

First report to the authorities and go to the available media centers and let you announce and give your contacts so that when found you can be contacted. It is also good to have it in the news paper.
