How do I cope with the sadness caused by my parents splitting up?

My parents are getting a divorce, and I just can't stop crying about it. How can I let go of some of the sadness?

First, don't blame yourself. Whatever happened is between the two of them and has nothing to do with anything you did or didnt do. Next, try to see if from their viewpoints and if possible, give support to both of them. Pray about it if you are so inclined. Talk to your friends and make sure you have support.

Coping with the divorce of your parents is very difficult. Parents are often wrapped up in their own grief and sometimes do not notice the children are suffering also. Try to remember that none of this is your fault. Crying is a natural part of coping with stress. Writing down your feelings often helps people work through their sadness.
