its no good choosing perfectly smooth pebbles as they will never bed down also dont choose rough edged as these also wont tamp down you need to pick a middle of the road size all about the same shape

It all depends where you put them. Gardens use med size pebbles. Make sure they don't get in the lawn area, they can ruin your lawn mower.
