How do I care for a Madagascar dragon tree?

My mother has one of these beautiful trees in her home. She tries not to give it to much sunlight. She also waters the tree down lightly with a spray bottle. Giving it about 2-3 sprays. My mother also clips some of the leaves if she notices it gets brownish. This is due to lack of humidity or air.

Water the tree weekly and fertilize once a year, as they do not like it! Allow the soil to become dry between waterings. Full to partial sunlight makes these plants thrive.
